Min: Russia to invest record funds in infrastructure in 2022–2024

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) – Russia’s investment in infrastructure from the National Wealth Fund (NWF) will be all-time high in 2022-2024, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Tuesday.

“This means we can talk about creation of additional resources at NWF to finance self-sustainable infrastructure projects. We limit them at about 2.5 trillion rubles, this is a lot of money,” Siluanov told the Federation Council upper house.

“This is money that has not been invested in the entire history of Russia’s sovereign funds. Our infrastructure investment amounted to about 1 trillion rubles in the whole history and now we’re talking about 2.5 trillion rubles.”

According to the minister, the NWF will be replenished by 3.4 trillion rubles in 2022, by 2.7 trillion rubles in 2023 and by more than 2 trillion rubles in 2024 with the help of high oil exports revenue.
